Archuleta County Inmate Information

The primary objective of the Archuleta Detention Facility is to maintain a clean, safe and secure environment for all inmates and detention staff. Detention staff also ensures court appearances of those accused of unlawful behavior prior to adjudication, and administers court ordered sanctions / punishments to those individuals convicted of a crime.

Family and friends of inmates held in Pagosa Springs can contact the Archuleta County Detention Facility at 970-264-8474 with any questions about visitation.

Visitation Hours:  Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM

Inmate Commissary

Inmates are allowed to purchase sundries, hygiene items, and food items from the jail commissary. Commissary privilege may be revoked for a violation of jail rules.

Cash and money orders are accepted at the jail window; no personal checks will be accepted.

Money orders must be made out to the inmate and not the jail facility.

Any items dropped off for an inmate at the jail window must be approved by the Detention Commander.  These items may include prescriptions, eyeglasses, and medical devices.

Am I going to be searched when I come to the jail for an inmate visit?

Yes, you will be required to pass through a security machine that will be similar to an airport metal detection device. You may not bring weapons of any kind into the visitation area.

Can I bring food or supplies into the jail to be given to a particular inmate?

No food or supplies of any kind are allowed into the jail from outside sources.

How do I arrange a visit with an inmate?
